This feasibility study looked at the creation of a new urban centre around the Old Street roundabout and tube station. Considering the benefits of a major transport interchange the notion is to maximize density in a mixed use dense urban scheme that creates a variety of spaces whilst regenerating a run-down part of Hackney. The Fire Station would be relocated within the site to allow the Old Street frontage to become an active, dynamic street front creating a pedestrian link to a revitalised Charles Square and on to Hoxton Square.
