The Minoco Wharf site is located on the banks of the River Thames next to the Thames barrier and its corresponding park. In order to be able to maximize the experience of living by the water a system of shallow canals was proposed so that even the people living in the deeper parts of the site would be able to share the waterfront experience. A series of sinuous ribbon apartment buildings ran in the north-south direction allowing for a good orientation for all dwellings. Several offices fronted the main road in order to be able to create a buffer that created a residential inner sanctum.
